Primal Fear

This is an engaging film that left me guessing until the end.  Without a doubt the best role I’ve seen Richard Gere in (although to be fair I haven’t seen a lot of his recent films).  I remember him as the bumbling business man with a heart of gold from Pretty Woman (for the record I hate Julia Roberts with the exception of Mona Lisa Smile, and I hated Pretty Woman).  His performance in that movie was medicore at best, but he does well in this movie.  Granted, his role is not the most difficult.  That title goes to Edward Norton (my favorite actor…he’s never been in anything bad).

Richard Gere is Edward Norton’s lawyer in a weird case involving where Norton is a Catholic choir boy.  Yah.  Excellent performance by Norton.  The case gets more and more interesting the further into the movie it gets.  It’s fabulous - I didn’t expect it at all.  Just amazing.  It’s one of those movies where if I say much more about it, I’ll start giving it away.  So stop reading this and start watching it.
