The Man Who Fell to Earth

I really wanted to see this movie because of two reasons: 1. I love David Bowie and 2. it was free on demand this month (I’m a big fan of digital cable).  So I’m thinking hell yah David Bowie.  I knew nothing of what this movie what about.

I still know nothing of what that movie was about.  I guess Bowie was an alien that fell to earth.  That happens in the first scene.  That’s when I got lost…

So apparently he knows a lot of technology (hes an alien, I can understand that) and makes a ridiculous amount of money and starts the biggest US corporation and becomes rich.  Ok I can kinda see that.  He doesn’t seem to understand sex or alcohol at first, but a pretty young hotel worker helps him with that.  She moves in a gets naked.  The first half of the movie is spent cutting to random scenes of some teacher having sex with his students.  Seriously.

So eventually this teacher ends up working for Bowie on a space program…presumably so Bowie can go home – with water, since his planet is experiencing a drought.  He confides in some people that he’s an alien and not just British and then they screw with him and take his corporation.  He gets tested and probed a lot.  It’s weird.

Then he has sex with that same girl from the begining and they’re very drunk and naked and he has a pool table in a room that is decorated like outside.

It’s really weird.  Very hard to follow…I don’t know exactly what happened, but he was naked.  Front and back.

So if you want to see David Bowie’s birthday suit watch the second half of this movie and don’t pay attention to any of the dialoge.
