Nipple Piercing

This was one of the most interesting piercings I’ve had in my life.  I guess I should address some of the common myths and whatnot.

 Does it hurt a lot?
Not really.  It kinda hurt to get them done, but other than that it was smooth sailing…a few days of soreness, but that’s to be expected with any piercing.

Does it enhance sexual pleasure?
I’ve heard different things, as I’m sure many of you have.  The simple answer is for me -yes.

Is it true that you can’t breastfeed children after having them done?
Well you can ask my 7 week old, fat, happy, and completely unable to figure out a bottle daughter…and she’d tell you that’s not true.  I never would have gotten it done if I hadn’t been assured by a reputable source that it wouldn’t affect my ability to breastfeed (although sometimes I look back on it and smile because I was only 18 but very concerned about that). On an interesting note, my first sign of pregnancy was severe discomfort with my piercings.  I ended up taking them out because of that about 3 weeks before we found out I was pregnant (she was a surprise so I didn’t make the connection until later).  Also sometimes milk does go through the holes…but only little dribbles and it doesn’t affect her ability to eat.

Does it make your nipples stand up at all times?
No.  They behaved exactly like they did before piercing.

Does it make it so you can’t wear a bra?
No.  I wore many bras very comfortably.  I never noticed they were there except the first week or so (healing).  Although I found it more comfortable to wear a bra during healing because otherwise my shirt rubbed on them.  And before you start asking specifics about what types of bras these really were, I owned just about every kind – trust me.

Can you see them through your shirt?
That depends on what you’re wearing.  Can you see your nipples through your shirt?  Is it a tight shirt?  Use common sense.  However if you were to ask if you could see it through a bra the answer is probably not.  If you’re wearing a tight shirt and a fabric bra maybe.  I prefer molded bras and almost never had that problem (unless I wanted to).

Hrm…that’s all I can think of for the time being as far as frequently asked questions and myths.  It would also be good to note that 99% of the time I wore barbells instead of hoops.  There are many reasons for that.

  1. You can easily change the look by chaning the end beads – not the whole ring.  In fact you never had to remove that part.
  2. It was much more comfy.  Especially during healing.  The rings would move through the hole back and forth throughout the day…I found it to be highly uncomfortable.
  3. I liked the way they looked better.

Anyhow I think that’s it…if any of you have any other questions feel free to ask, but I think I addressed it all.  I thought they were awesome and I think they look cool on guys and girls alike.  Everyone shoud get them.  ^_^
