Keeping Mum
This is a whacky Brittish movie my mom made me watch. It happened to be on the ondemand on my cable this month. Great excuse to watch movies in my opinion. Normally I don’t like some of the odd things she makes me watch, but this one is a happy exception.
First off the cast is pretty good…starring Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean anyone?) as a serious and speaking role. A pastor. Also it has Patrick Swayze as an American sleeze-ball and Maggie Smith as a homicidal granny (she played Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter series).
It’s incredibly funny and unexpected…a homicidal granny with a heart of gold. It’s a light movie with very dark humour. Those crazy Brits. If you’re looking for a good laugh and aren’t seriously distrubed by comedic death you should see this.
Besides…haven’t we all dreamed about our grandmothers coming over to our homes and taking a butcher knife to the yippy dog next door?
